Montana Roots
MAPS connects and advocates for Montana’s private schools so leaders can serve students, support teachers, strengthen families, and participate fully in the educational life of the state..
A healthy education ecosystem includes public schools, private schools, homeschool communities, and families who know what their children need. MAPS gives private school leaders a common table, a practical resource network, and a constructive voice with public partners.

Mission
MAPS exists to strengthen PK-12 education in Montana
What MAPS Does
MAPS is built around practical support for school leaders and principled advocacy for students, teachers, and families.
MAPS can help:
Prepare for consultation, document concerns, understand equitable services processes, connect with peers, and share what private schools need in order to serve students well.
Advocacy
Represent private school perspectives in policy conversations involving school choice, accreditation, federal programs, student services, and family voice.
Connection
Bring school leaders together for regular meetings, peer learning, timely updates, and practical problem solving across Montana’s large geography.
For school leaders
MAPS can serve as a practical partner when school leaders need a statewide perspective, peer support, or help framing an issue for public agency consultation.
Equitable Services
Help schools understand and pursue fair access to federal program services for eligible students, teachers, and other educational personnel.
Leadership Resources
Share templates, briefings, compliance reminders, and leadership tools that help private schools operate with confidence and clarity.
